ScoMIS are changing the way in which we provide remote support to schools. Our new service will be Audited and use a secure SSL connection (like Bank websites).
It is a secure and fully auditable replacement of the existing VNC application that is currently used for remote support.
ScoMIS will be providing one agent per school for use on the main administration machine as part of the Service Level Agreement that schools purchase. In order for us to improve our services to schools, the agent collects an audit of the computer to provide added value to ScoMIS Services, such as the Windows Health Check or Onsite Technician Services, SIMS Upgrade Service, ScoMIS Encryption Service, McAfee Antivirus software, ScoMIS Remote Backup and SIMS Terminal Server Service.
For full details about the new ScoMIS Remote Support Service, please see our website http://www.devon.gov.uk/scomis-remotesupport
Please Note: Each School has been allocated a FREE software licence for one computer in the school.

ScoMIS may also need to make a charge for services which need to be provided ad hoc where they could have been automated through the Remote Support Agent.
To enhance the Remote SIMS Upgrade, ScoMIS will need to install a new user account in FMS and SIMS .net to allow an automated unattended Upgrade that can be run out of normal school hours.
