We understand that people have different learning styles, you may prefer to receive your training interactively from one of our experienced trainers or take it at your own pace by enrolling onto one of Scomis Self-Directed courses.  We’ve listened to our customers, and scheduled training to be delivered how you have asked for it.   Scomis are now able to offer a wide variety of Tutor Led training delivered by one of our Scomis MIS Specialists as well as Self-Directed Learning via our Digital Learning Platform,  ScoLearn,  designed to complement our Tutor Led Training.   Below is a list of all our current training opportunities available for you.

Preparing for the New Academic Year in SIMS - End of Year Procedures - Secondary - Online learning

This course describes the steps that should be followed to enable a successful transition from one academic year to another. It includes the creation of a new academic year, setting up next year’s registration groups and year groups, etc. together with the promotion of pupils from one year into the next. This course describes the steps that should be followed to enable a successful transition from one academic year to another. We understand that people have different learning styles and may prefer to receive your training from one of our experienced trainers. We've listened to your feedback and can now offer a Tutor Led Preparing for the New Academic Year in SIMS for Secondary Schools Course, delivered by one of Scomis' SIMS Specialists. This course is suitable for Administrators and Data Managers in Secondary and Secondary Special School settings who are new or in need of support to prepare SIMS for the end of year procedures.

The School Census Return is required to be completed by maintained Nursery schools, Primary schools, Secondary schools, All Through schools, Special schools, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), and Academies in England. Producing the School Census for Primary Schools - Tutor Led Training

We've listened to your feedback, and can now offer a range of courses delivered by our Scomis training specialists. The School Census Return is required to be completed by maintained Nursery schools, Primary schools, Secondary schools, All Through schools, Special schools, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), and Academies in England. School Census is a data collection exercise which provides the Central Government with data from the schools’ management information systems (MIS). The data collected is determined by government requirements but may also be used by local authorities (LA). The specification of the School Census moved from a calendar year basis (spring, summer and autumn) to an academic year basis (autumn, spring and summer) from January 2014 and the date for each collection is set each year.

Producing the School Workforce Census - Tutor Led Training

We've listened to your feedback, and can now offer a range of courses delivered by our Scomis training specialists. The School Workforce Census Return is required to be run by English schools in the maintained sector. These include Community, Foundation, Voluntary Aided and Voluntary Controlled schools, Academies, Free Schools and Pupil Referral Units. This course covers both primary and secondary school workforce census routines in SIMS, looks at the data which will be collected, how schools’ SIMS systems can be configured to provide SWC data, producing the return itself and resolving data issues.

Recording Positive and Negative Conduct in SIMS (Behaviour Management)- Tutor Led Training

We've listened to your feedback, and can now offer a range of courses delivered by our Scomis training specialists. SIMS has been designed to be flexible –  by allowing for you to input your own behaviour policy. In Behaviour Management Setups the school can align their behaviour policy within the conduct area in SIMS. This can ensure staff log positive and negative incidents consistently in accordance with the behaviour policy, both saving time and streamlining your processes.
