Update: 17/08/2016 – WJEC AS results files containing unit grades are not importing as the results are in UPPER CASE whereas SIMS expect them to be in lower case. We understand that WJEC are going to re-issue any files that are affected.
PATCH 22188 has now successfully been applied .
URGENT UPDATE: Capita have released Patch 22188 which resolves an issue with A Level grades. We are currently in the process of applying this patch for hosted schools and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please go to status.scomis.org for updated information.

Update: 15/08/2016 – The updated Performance Measures File V2 and CAS KS2 Fine Point Score Calculators are now available from F:\Public\Updates for Hosted Schools and for Non hosted schools from the following links:
Update: 15/08/2016 – Patch 22159
Non hosted schools – Patch 22159 (which resolves several issues in relation to Exams) can be requested from Scomis or downloaded from SOLUS3. Hosted schools will have the patch applied by Scomis.
URGENT Update: 09/08/2016 – At the beginning of August, the DfE updated the Ebacc and List of 2014 – 2018 KS4 qualifications and discount codes which means a new Performance Measures file for England is needed. We will make this available as soon as it is released.

Due to the above changes it has been necessary to release updated versions of the CAS KS2 Fine Point Score Calculators. If you have imported these prior to 09/08/2016 you will need to reimport the latest versions which are available under KS2-KS4 Progress Measures further down this bulletin.
Hosted Schools – The updated Performance Measures File will be available from your F:\Public\Updates folder as soon as it becomes available. The CAS KS2 Fine Point Score Calculators will also be included but are available on the bulletin if you wish to import these sooner.
Update: 20/07/2016 – some schools are experiencing problems importing the CAS KS2 Fine Point Score Calculators. Please note we are of this issue and Capita are investigating. If this affects your school please contact the Service Desk so we can send you a resolution to this issue as soon as we have the relevant update from Capita.

First point of call: Please go to Appendix A – Page 87 of the handbook. This outlines what you can do NOW prior to the downloading of results.
Appendix D is a Results Log File to help you keep track of what files you have imported – Page 105.
All schools will need to be on the SIMS Summer Upgrade Release Version 7.170
The upgrade will be available as follows:
Hosted (Terminal Server) Schools Deployed– w/e16/07/2016
Upgrade Service Schools – will be contacted with a date for the upgrade
Own Upgrade Schools – Files will be available via SOLUS3- w/e16/07/2016
Schools should be aware that an IT Technician should be on-hand to complete the upgrade prior to the download of examination results
Once the Summer Upgrade has been deployed, schools will need to ensure that they:
- Download and import the QWS files (QAN Catalogues) to ensure that the most recent information is available for the PI calculations.
- Download and import the latest Performance Measures File.
NOTE: Hosted Schools – Scomis will include the latest QAN Catalogues and the Performance Measures File with the Summer Upgrade. These will be available to import from F:\Public\Updates. Go into SIMS .net and Tools | Examinations | Import Qualification Data click on the magnifying glass and browse to F:\Public\Updates.
NOTE: Non-Hosted Schools can download the Performance Measures File from the link below: To download this file, click onto it and choose Save As. Save to a folder that you are able to access on your network. Go to the folder and then right click on the Performance Measures compressed zip folder and choose Extract All and browse to where you want to extract the file to. Import into SIMS via Tools | Examinations | Import Qualification Data.
KS2-KS4 Progress Measures
For the Progress 8 Measures in the Performance Table Summary Report to populate, you must ensure that the KS2 Fine Point Score and Level template has been imported and that the KS2 Fine Level column has been populated with the data, as provided by the DfE.
Information on this is given in Appendix G on page 111 of the Scomis Examination Results Day Handbook August 2016. To download this file, click onto it and choose Save As. Save to a folder that you are able to access on your network. Go to the folder and then right click on the compressed zip folder and choose Extract All and browse to where you want to extract the file. See Handbook for instructions on how to import into SIMS.
