We understand that people have different learning styles, you may prefer to receive your training interactively from one of our experienced trainers or take it at your own pace by enrolling onto one of Scomis Self-Directed courses. We’ve listened to our customers, and scheduled training to be delivered how you have asked for it. Scomis are now able to offer a wide variety of Tutor Led training delivered by one of our Scomis MIS Specialists as well as Self-Directed Learning via our Digital Learning Platform, ScoLearn, designed to complement our Tutor Led Training. FMS for New Users (Part 1) Navigation, Setups, General Ledger and Purchase Ledger - Tutor Led Training
FMS can record all order and invoice information for suppliers, recording budgets and commitments along with cash book transactions, petty cash and general journals. It also , produces cheque runs and bank reconciliations along with all the period end/year end procedures. It can also store and calculate salary information using SIMS as well as produce sales invoices and record equipment and Assets.

SIMS Financial Management System (FMS) covers the full range of accounting functions required by schools, whether they run their own accounts locally or have their finances managed centrally by their Local Authority.

FMS for New Users (Part 3) Regular Tasks for Academies and Local Payment Schools, Monthly processes, Management Reports and Journals - Tutor Led Training
This course covers the procedures that are usually undertaken at a month end such as bank reconciliation, VAT processing and payroll processing In addition Management Reports and Journals will be covered.

FMS for New Users (Part 3) Regular Tasks for Central Payment Schools. Central Payments and Auto-Reconciliation, Management Reports and Journals - Tutor Led Training
The course covers the processes a Central school (non local bank account) would undertake to create central authorisations, enter the monthly information received from the local authority for payroll and any central receipts / payments. Any entries could then be reconciled as a manual reconciliation by processing an automatic reconciliation file. Entering payroll by individual or block payment as a manual process will also be covered.

Introduction to the Timetable in NOVA T6 - Tutor Led Training
We've listened to your feedback, and can now offer a range of courses delivered by our Scomis training specialists. Our Introduction to the Timetable in NOVA T6 course has been designed to precede the 4 day NOVA T6 New Users course offered by Scomis, (And then the Maintaining the Timetable in NOVA T6 course). It is recommended that anyone new to Timetabling attends this as either a stand-alone course or before attending the New Users course.

Maintaining Course Manager in SIMS - Tutor Led Training
Designed to support schools with and without Post-16 provision, this course explores how the Course Management functionality of SIMS links the areas of Nova-T, academic management, assessment and Examinations Organiser. This course is offered as a morning only or full day course (for schools with a post 19 provision). The morning session is suitable for data managers and administrators in all secondary schools. The afternoon session builds on the first session and is suitable for secondary schools with sixth forms who have responsibility for preparing and producing the post-16 elements for the autumn census

We've listened to your feedback and can now offer a Tutor Led Maintaining the timetable in NOVA T6 Course, delivered by one of Scomis' Timetable Specialists. Maintaining the timetable can mean many things, from simply changing someone’s room to rescheduling part of the timetable. This course deals with the most common processes, some of which require changes to the plan and others just to the timetable.

It will also look at ways to carry out exams analysis in SIMS to support the schools key performance indicators.

We have developed a series of half day remote tutor led training opportunities covering key aspects of Excel to enable you to ’pick and mix’ according to your requirements. As part of our suite of Excel courses, this will help you with all aspects of creating and displaying your data in charts. If you have no experience in Excel it is recommended that you attend the Formulas and Functions courses first.
